pempek dan lamien

Berikut beberapa foto pempek yang saya coba di Pempek Pak Raden yang terkenal itu. Karena saya penggemar makanan berkuah, terutama yang rasanya manis, asam dan pedas, saya sangat suka kuah pempek Pak Raden yang disediakan dalam botol di meja, jadi semua orang bisa menakar sesuai keinginan. Saya juga mencoba otak-otaknya. Rasanya juga cukup enak. Beberapa waktu yang lalu, saya juga akhirnya kesampaian makan lamien di Golden Century di Pondok Indah Mall. Sayangnya, lamien vegetarian yang saya idam-idamkan udah engga ada lagi di menu. Sebagai penggantinya, mereka menyajikan lamien asam pedas yang rasanya agak mirip dengan hot and sour soup. Tapi, menurut saya masih lebih enak lamien vegetarian.

Sushi Miyabi, 3 Desember.
Jadi waktu itu saya sempat lewat daerah Kebayoran Baru dan saya melihat kedai sushi dengan nama yang cukup provokatif, Sushi Miyabi. Gak lama, saya melihat kedai dengan nama yang sama di daerah Depok, dekat rumah saya. Beberapa kali saya melewati kedai Sushi Miyabi pada malam hari dan selalu ramai. Malam minggu kemarin, akhirnya saya mencoba makan di sana juga. Astaga, itu penuhnya ya. Beruntung saya dan pacar bisa langsung dapet meja karena bertemu dengan temannya si pacar yang langsung mengajak gabung. Jujur kalau saya sih kurang suka dengan tempat makan yang terlalu ramai karena jadi tidak nyaman. Kalau untuk nuansanya, menurut saya kedai sushi ini lumayan oke karena menyediakan meja-meja outdoor. Pelayanannya juga oke, tapi sayang karena restoran sedang ramai, kami harus nunggu hampir setengah jam sebelum bisa menyantap sushi pesanan kami. Tapi bagusnya, mereka sudah minta maaf dulu karena pelayanan yang cukup lama itu. Kami memesan dua jenis sushi, tapi saya lupa namanya. Yang satu sushi salmon dan satunya sushi tuna. Untuk harga, menurut saya cukup standar, 28 ribu rupiah untuk 5 potong sushi. Tapi untuk rasa, menurut saya biasa aja, engga begitu istimewa. Masih jauh lebih enak Sushi Tei atau Sushi Groove. Berikut foto-fotonya yang sayangnya cuma sedikit dan kualitasnya engga begitu bagus karena harus memakai blitz.

Secret Recipe, December 2.
Last Friday night, I went out on a date with boyfriend. We went to see Puss in Boots in the cinema. The movie is quite entertaining although it is not as funny as Shrek or Kung Fu Panda. After seeing the movie, we had a dinner in Secret Recipe. Boyfriend ordered his favorite, Tom Yum Kung, seafood tom yum with king prawn. He was actually going to order Tom Yum Chicken, but they ran out of chicken. The tom yum as usual did not disappointing. It was super yummy. Boyfriend even ate them all to the bottom of the bowl. I ordered Thailand Seafood Spaghetti. I was so hungry at that time but I was surprised when the spaghetti came as it came in a such big plate. The presentation is pretty, I always like the way restaurants serve pastas. Molto bella, I must say. But, I think its look is finer than its taste. For the drinks, boyfriend ordered iced tea and I ordered hot tea. And they offered various kinds of sugar, how sweet! For the dessert, we ordered a slice of Black and White cake. It was yum-meh. It was just the right dessert after the pretty heavy main courses. And so we were having a foodgasm. Yum!

Saya benar-benar senang sekali bisa menggunakan kembali kamera saku mini saya. Sebenarnya niatan saya untuk kembali selalu membawa kamera saku adalah karena salah seorang teman kantor saya baru saja membeli lensa makro untuk kamera SLR-nya. Yah, kalau saya sih tidak begitu menggandrungi dan mengerti fotografi. Tapi, begitu saya lihat teman saya mengambil foto cupcake dengan lensa makronya, saya langsung tertakjub-takjub. Saya sangat teramat menggemari fotografi makanan. Dan begitu melihat keajaiban yang dapat dilakukan oleh lensa makro terhadap tampilan makanan di foto, saya langsung bersemangat untuk tidak hanya mengandalkan kamera ponsel. Yah, meskipun kamera saku tidak sebanding dengan kamera SLR, tapi setidaknya masih ada fitur kamera makro di kamera saku saya. Yay!

Pizza Hut, 1 Desember.
Pulang kantor hari Kamis kemarin saya diajak makan piza. Maybe I'm being too sentimental or what, but I always have this excited feeling everytime boyfriend asks me out. Menu yang kami pesan malem itu engga beda jauh sama menu yang biasa kami pesan kalau makan di Pizza Hut yaitu piza Fish & Chips, salad dan sup krim jamur. Tapi untuk pizanya kali ini kami coba varian topping keju yaitu Cheesy 7 yang katanya terdiri dari tujuh jenis keju. Tapi kok ya rasanya sama saja menurut saya. Tapi saya selalu suka piza Fish & Chips-nya karena ya itu salah satu piza yang paling edible buat saya selain Deluxe Cheese. Sebenarnya Pizza Hut menyajikan piza vegetarian. Tapi, jenis piza vegan yang disajikan sekarang beda dengan yang dulu. Saya sudah pernah mencoba piza vegetarian yang baru dan menurut saya bayam dan tahu bukan topping yang pas untuk piza.

Ta Wan, 25 November.
Jadi ceritanya pacar mengajak saya makan bubur sepulang kerja. Seperti yang selalu saya tulis, bubur Ta Wan memang seperti obat yang ajaib, apalagi kemarin saya lagi ngerasa kurang enak badan. Kami memesan bubur tiga rasa dan angsio tahu yang rasanya sungguh super duper enak. Bahagianya :)

The title clearly shows that I was too lazy to post this one because I forgot to copy these images taken from my Canon digital camera to my flash-disk. Anyway, after seeing these photos, I promise myself that I'll always bring my digital camera to take the pictures of those mouth watering dishes. Compared to my smartphone's camera (yes you're right, there is no way a girl with such a simple blog design could use an android smartphone, and since I'm not really interested with Apple's products, I use a Blackberry smartphone indeed), the quality of the images taken from my digi-cam is way much better (of course, Nov. Duh!). Therefore, I swear I'll always keep my super compact digi-cam safely in my handbag.
Anyway, back to the post, on May 17, my two best friends and I went to Sagoo Kitchen in Margo City. For those of you who are not familiar with the this restaurant, kindly please check its Facebook profile. Basically, Sagoo Kitchen offers the theme "good old days" through its homey restaurant design (can be seen from its woody furniture, posters, and so on), food and beverages it serves, and various kind of snacks displayed and sold in the restaurant. We only ordered two kind of meals namely Mee Kuah Djawa (noodle soup, my favorite dish) and Rojak something (forget the name but it is a mixed fruits topped with sauce). I have visited this restaurant several times and I can say it is one of my favorite places to hang out.

a special birthday dinner

Harvest, November 08.

A best friend of mine prepared a dinner for me on a night after my birthday. She invited my sister, my sister's boyfriend and my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday in Harvest. Besides my family, no one ever really bothers to prepare a birthday dinner for me. So it was such a special birthday dinner, and I must say it was the best birthday gift I received this year. Boyfriend gave me a watch, my sister gave me a casual blazer that I wanted to buy (I never told her that I want that blazer and she was as surprised as I was when I told her about this), my sister's boyfriend gave me a book and a friend of mine at work gave a Starbucks Christmas mug. Thank you, everyone. I am truly blessed.

over-priced sushi

Senju, October 29.
We spent a dinner in Senju for over-priced sushi (IDR 38k for 4 pieces of sushi). Sadly, Sushi Tei's or Sushi Groove's sushi, which cost cheaper, taste way better than those I ate in Senju. But I got to admit, its okonomiyaki tasted really delicious.

My Pancake, October 18.

It was another 18th on the calendar, meaning another me and boyfriend's day. We had a dinner date in My Pancake. I was actually craving for Pancious' pancake but since it was a dinner after work, we thought it was way too exhausting to go to Pancious in Pondok Indah Mall, you know Jakarta and its excruciating traffic jam. We decided to go to Citos and the only restaurant serving pancake is My Pancake. We ordered chocolate vanilla pancake. Since we ordered the large portion containg 2 pieces of pancake, we decided to replace one of the pancakes with a waffle which later we found did not really taste good. The pancake was okay but did not taste as good as I was expecting it to be. I thought it was a bit too sweet. I think pancake is better served a wee bit salty. We also ordered fish & chips which I think was dissapointing considering the price which is nearly the same with the price of a plate of super delicious fish & chips in Fish & Co. The fish was too soft both inside and out. And oh, the chips was not crispy. Another disappointment. I would not recommend those menus to others.
