my lunch cost me IDR 75k

This is not the most expensive lunch I've ever had though. I once had a lunch in Jun Njan and we (5 people including me) spent like IDR 800k, and we did not even order fancy meals. Anyway, actually, for some people, IDR 75k for a lunch is pretty much nothing. But for me, a corporate slave trying to save every penny in between the impulsive consumerism temptation I have to face, it is pretty much something. And so I went to Ikuze in Epicentrum Walk. The ambience is so Japanese for it is a Japanese restaurant, no wonder. But I don't like the chair for it is a wood chair. Me and my two friends ordered two sets of meal. Each consists of two dishes. I kinda forget the names of the dishes. The food is pretty good. I kinda like the portion because it fits my appetite. But, the taste of the food does not really make me want to come back for more. But, it's worth my IDR 75k, though.

a good news from a good friend

A good news is good, but a good news about your good friend is like double good. A very good friend of mine just told me about her graduation. I'm so happy for her. We met up in J.CO yesterday. A sweet and warm conversation over sweet and warm donuts. Sweetness!

lunch box

Today my lunch came in a box. No, I did not bring any lunch box. I ordered tuna & egg sandwich from Cali Deli. The sandwich is pretty big and sliced into 3 pieces. By the time I'm writing this, I only have eaten 2 pieces of them. The sandwich is made of bread, tuna and salad. The bread is crunchy, so it is better to eat the sandwich immediately once it is served. I love the salad, it tasted fresh and sour. I don't really like the tuna, I think it was a bit undercooked. And the funny thing is I did not find any egg although the name is tuna & egg sandwich. And now that my stomach is full, I feel so sleepy. Let's just blame it on the sandwich.

what is it with sushi tei and saturday night?

Sushi Groove, 23 July
This is the third time I failed to eat in Sushi Tei on saturday night. And so I went to Sushi Groove instead. I do not really like the interior for it is actually a sushi bar. So unlike Sushi Tei which still provides many personal tables along with its sushi bar, there are only few personal tables in Sushi Groove. We, means my boyfriend and I, ate in one of its sushi bar (a long table with stools, I don't really like seating in a stool). I think it's the reason why I did not want to linger longer in there besides the fact that we ate near its closing hour. The service was okay. The waiters constantly filled our empty glasses with free-refill ocha. And they were friendly too. We ordered three dishes. The first one is seaweed salad. The dressing was just so so, definitely not comparable to Sushi Tei's seaweed salad. However, it's topped with paper-thin bonito flakes which was super tasty! We also ordered chicken curry udon. I gotta be honest, it did not look so appealing. But it tasted pretty tasty, so my boyfriend said. However, the best dish is the last one served, that is the arashiyama sushi (gindara fish sushi). It was so tasty and it was also topped with paper-thin bonito flakes! I think arashiyama is gonna be one of my favorite sushi.

see? the udon does not look so appealing, right?

pizza to the fullest

Pizza Hut, July 22.
We experienced pizza to the fullest, and we only ordered a small pan of pizza. Isn't that ironic? It was another dinner after work with boyfriend. We decided to go to Pizza Hut because he said he want to eat the salad. And I am an expert in taking PH's salad from its salad bar, so it's only natural if I managed to take a bowl full of salad for him. I did not want to eat the salad, not even a bite because I have just had a salad for my lunch. I ordered a bowl of zupa soup. It was delicious and the portion is just right for my stomach's capacity. Lastly, we ordered a small pan of tuna melt salad. We had already eaten our salad and zupa soup before we ate the pizza. So, even though we only ordered a small pan of pizza, we really became full to the fullest when we finished the pizza. Ah, thank you, Pizza Hut.

bon appetite!

this pretty suits you, yuppies!

4Fingers, July 22
The privilege of working in Kuningan area is that I have the chance to explore so many restaurants located in there. I have not yet explored many restaurants, but last Friday, I went to Four Fingers located in Epicentrum. I think its distinctive dishes are its crispy chicken and chicken wings. I can tell because most of the people were eating them as I arrived in the restaurant. In fact, those were the meals my friends ordered. And I have to tell you they smell super duper good. Since I don't eat chicken, I ordered salad. They served tofu salad, made of lettuce, mushroom and of course dice-shaped fried tofu. The dressing tasted really good, sort of tasty sweet and sour. Actually I ordered a set menu, so my tofu salad came with french fries and coke. The french fries also tasted good. Almost finger-licking good, indeed. The concept of the restaurant itself adopts diner restaurants. It's a yes place to go for a quick lunch (it's a fast-food restaurant indeed) in between busy working hour, but it's a no for a dinner after busy working hour, in my opinion. All in all, the food is worth trying!

it's official: tawan is one of my fave restaurants

Tawan, July 20.
Porridge after a tiring day at work will never fail. Trust me. And this fish and phitan porridge I always order whenever I visit Tawan is such a cure for weariness. Again, trust me.

finally, bibimbab!

Ccozi & Friends, July 16.
I had always wanted to try Bibimbab. This started when I browsed pictures of bibimbab online for the first time. And after seeing the bright colors of that Korean traditional meal, I became more and more curiuos about it. And finally boyfriend asked me to go to a Korean restaurant in Gandaria City, Ccozi & Friends for a dinner date. I ordered calamari bibimbab and my boyfriend ordered beef curry ramen. I don't really like the smell of the calamari bibimbab though. I think it was the spices' smell. Because of its unusual smell, I thought the taste would be so weird. But I was wrong, it tasted good. My boyfriend said it tasted like nasi pecel (rice with mixed vegetable with peanut sauce). The ramen served in hot bowl and it smelled, contrary to the bibimbab, really good. The kimchi was good too, by the way. All in all, I don't think I really like Korean food, I just can't stand the smell.
