bakmi djawa

I have been craving for bakmi djawa (javanese noodle) since last month. My favorite one was the one served in Sagoo Kitchen. I have not got the chance to go there. But yesterday my craving was satisfied when boyfriend and I stopped by in a small food stall (more like a food hawker) during our way back home. It was my boyfriend who noticed the stall's name Bakmi Djawa Pak Ikhsan and asked me whether I was still craving for bakmi djawa. And since I was craving for it, so we had our super early dinner (at 6 pm) there. The stall is pretty small and clean. When I saw the menu, I noticed that they only serve 4 kinds of food, namely noodles (served in a gravy or fried), vermicelli, satay and fried rice. So, their bakmi djawa must be good, I thought. And I was right. It did not take much time to cook the bakmi godok which is the name for the noodle soup that consists of noodle, egg, chicken, otak-otak (fish cakes) tomato and cabbage. The bakmi godok really tasty, especially the gravy. I really love the noodles which is sort of similar to spaghetti. But I think the egg smell is too strong, maybe it is because they soft-boiled the egg before pouring the gravy. But, I really enjoyed the bakmi godok which costs only IDR 14,000. Yum yum.
